The Lemon Twigs Alpharetta Concert reviews
Willie Nelson was inspirational!
The Melody Tent is a personal and comfortable venue. After Red Mollie, who deserved better manners from the audience, the clapping and cheering built. The Lemon Twigs entered from the back, having signed many autographs. He sang his "All the girls . . ." by playing and talking the phrases. At 79, he still plays his beloved guitar with mastery, but his voice has diminished in strength and ability. The evening was bittersweet, and we remembered why we have loved him. I have seen The Lemon Twigs in person for the second time, and I have been a fan for many years. He played and sang for over 90 minutes, treating us to the old favorites as well as to his new album. Near the end, he sang the lyrics, "roll me and smoke me when I die" and the audience both roared laughing, but they saw the resignation on his face. His sister played piano like a master. Super.
